Step 5: While Meatballs are baking, make Asian glaze by mixing hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, honey, 1 teaspoon of minced garlic, 1 ½ teaspoon of sesame oil and sriracha sauce in a large skillet and bring it to boil over medium heat for 5 minutes or until sauce get slightly thick.
Step 6: Remove meatballs from oven after completing it and place them directly into Asian glaze and toss well to coat Meatballs.
Step 7: Serve immediately with rice or noodles and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped onions.
Meat: I recommend to use ground turkey for this Asian meatballs recipe because it has low fat content. You can always substitute ground pork, chicken, beef but these are high in fat content.
Breadcrumbs: You can use panko bread crumbs because it has crisp texture which adds to Asian style meatballs.
White vinegar vs Rice Vinegar: White vinegar has harsh and sour whereas rice vinegar has sweet flavor. I don’t recommend substituting white vinegar in Asian meatballs recipe.
